DR. ARABIN® Tandem Pessary perforated

Indication
Genital prolapse grade 3-4
Stress incontinence

Category:

Description

The tandem pessary is composed of two securely connected cubes made of flexible silicone. For optimal preservation, it should be stored at temperatures between 0°C and 50°C, shielded from UV radiation, and kept away from reactive substances, gases, ozone, and mineral oil.

Application/Intended Purpose

Patients with genital prolapse (grade 3-4) and/or specific anatomical conditions are treated with the tandem pessary, mainly when single cube pessaries is not satisfying. Similar to the cube pessary, the vacuum effect is essential. The non-perforated version is stronger to hold the prolapse but is more difficult to handle. The perforated version is easier to handle and allows some drainage of discharge with relatively less adhesion. The tandem pessary can be useful in case of stress incontinence whereby the lower cube functions to support the urethra.

Note

The maximal uninterrupted period of application is 30 days(Class IIa). It is strongly recommended that the patient removes the devices every evening herself and insert it in the morning. The patient should be trained in self-management by healthcare professionals.

The product must not be used by other patients. Tandem pessaries must be inserted with thread towards the intruitus. The pessary is cleaned by running water without using any disinfectant.

Application and monitoring

The instructions are revised according to published studies and post-clinical follow-up.

The most recent version is located in Downloads / Instructions.

The pre-defined combinations of cube sizes (0-5) used for the tandem pessary are found in Downloads / Product overview.
Thereby it should be indicated by the healthcare provider which cube carries the thread: This is always the lower cube.
